Personal
“In college, I was originally a technical theatre major because I really enjoyed the planning aspect of putting together a production with a team and working with my hands. However, I had also always been fascinated with science courses because they were extremely interesting. I was drawn to the dental profession because it is a wonderful combination of art and science!

It is an honor to work with my father, for whom I have so much personal and professional respect. I’ve learned a lot from him, most notably the benefits of friendly, one-on-one care that makes you feel like an important part of our family.”

When she isn’t at the office creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Katie likes spending time with her husband and their son, Mikey, and daughter, Bre. Dr. Katie’s hobbies include reading, traveling, and exercising; she is also a big fan of the Chicago Cubs.

After moving around the Midwest to complete her education and training, Dr. Leslie is thrilled to be back serving patients in the community where she grew up. Her dad, who was a Periodontist, greatly motivated her desire to be part of the dental profession, and her brother felt that same influence as he is a dentist as well!

Dr. Leslie values a patient-centered approach and understands that each person is unique in their treatment goals and needs. She truly believes that being an Orthodontist is the best profession and feels thankful to have a career where she can positively affect those around her by creating beautiful healthy smiles and help build confidence while doing so.

When she is not in the office, Dr. Leslie can be found spending time with her husband. She has always been interested in health and fitness and enjoys trying different group fitness classes and anything Peloton! After attending two Big Ten universities, Dr. Leslie loves watching any and all college sports games but will always be loyal to her Wisconsin Badgers.

“My grandfather was a dentist and my father was an orthodontist, and this greatly influenced my decision to follow in their footsteps. During my teen years, I often helped out at my father’s office and really enjoyed it. Since starting my professional careers as a full-time university teacher and clinical scientist, I have always emphasized the importance of advanced evidence-based treatment. Today our office team offers our patients over 40 years of clinical experience along with the most innovative orthodontic solutions. It is especially rewarding to practice with my daughter Katie—a fourth generation in dentistry treating four generations of orthodontic patients! She, Dr. Kelley and Dr. Leslie keep us focused on the latest treatment alternatives.

I never forget that orthodontic treatment is almost always new to patients. I take the time to explain their recommended treatment and what to expect so they are fully informed about their care. Finally, everyone at Graber and Gyllenhaal Orthodontics treats our patients just like family with focused, unhurried care, a gentle touch and the utmost friendliness.”

In his free time, Dr. Lee enjoys being with his family, reading, traveling, skiing and sailing.
